Flights+Cars

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW)

DFW is the largest airport in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and will be the most convenient airport to fly into for our wedding. DFW Airport is approximately 30 minutes from the venue and 25 minutes from downtown Fort Worth. With America Airlines headquarters nearby, the majority of flights in and out are American Airlines flights, however nearly every airline flies through here, with the exception of Southwest Airlines. Fun facts: DFW Airport covers a land area larger than the island of Manhattan and is the second busiest airport in the United States!

Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL)

Love Field Airport is in Dallas and is also the headquarters for Southwest Airlines. So if you are loyal to Southwest Airlines like Nic and Roxanne are, this will be your only option. However, this will be a 45 minute drive (without traffic) to the venue and 45 minutes to downtown Fort Worth (again, without traffic). This is also a much smaller airport so rental cars may be less abundant than DFW Airport. While the drive from Dallas to Fort Worth is only 30 miles, it can be up to 2 hours during rush hour traffic. Love Field has a special place in our heart as it’s our home airport.

Transportation/Rental Cars

Fort Worth (and Texas as a whole) is not public transit friendly. While it does exist, it is extremely limited in where it travels. Depending on where you choose to stay, you will likely want to book a rental car or make friends with a local to get rides. Uber/Lyft is also readily available in the area to ensure everyone drives safely, but if you plan to stick around town or go on adventures, we would recommend booking a rental car.

Hotels + Accommodations

To allow you to customize your Texas trip and provide flexibility, we have chosen not to provide a hotel block.

“I prefer my own Accommodations via Airbnb"

Fort Worth is a large city and there are certainly plenty of Airbnb options around the area! As with any other option else, be mindful of the distance from the venue and the parking situation for any Airbnb. If you have any specific questions about an area or neighboorhood, Nic and Roxanne are always happy to provide information!

Near the Venue

Within 3 miles of the venue, there is a strip of hotels that includes a Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, La Quinta, Best Western, and other major hotel chains. Surrounding the hotels are chain restaurants and convenience stores, but not much more in terms of things to do. This block of hotels is likely the cheapest option and requires the least amount of travel to and from the venue, so if you are simply looking for a place to crash the night of the wedding this would be the most economical option.

Magnolia Ave

Located south-west of the city center, Magnolia Ave is an eclectic hub of shops, restaurants, bars, and entertainment without the hustle and bustle of being in downtown Fort Worth. If you are looking for good food with a more relaxed vibe, this would be the place to stay. This is also one of the options closer to Texas Christian University (TCU) who, on the day of our wedding, will be playing Texas (UT) in college football, meaning this neighborhood may book up/be busier than usual. Be advised this would be a 15-20 minute drive to/from the venue.

South Main Street/ Downtown Fort Worth

South Main Street is unironically the main street for breweries, bars, and restaurants just south of downtown. A mile away from this neighborhood is Sundance Square (a pedestrian-friendly downtown district with shops and bars) and Downtown Fort Worth, full of hotels and things to do in the heart of the city. If you’re looking for the Nic and Roxanne Fort Worth Experience, this is your option! Be advised that this would be a 15-20 minute drive to/from the venue.

Fort Worth Stockyards

If you want the quintessential Fort Worth/Texas “Yee Haw” Cowtown experience, look no further, The Stockyards is the place to be. With daily cattle drives, plenty of western shops to buy some new boots, and western themed food and drink, you’ll be slinging back Shiner Bock at a bar with the best of them. Please note The Stockyards are on the north side of Fort Worth which would mean a 20-30 minute drive to/from the venue with no traffic. If you’re looking to make this a long weekend trip or get a true Texas experience, this may be the neighborhood option for you.
